Random Roads Suite (Arrangement) 2009
Solo Flute, Solo Cello, Solo Double Bass and Orchestra
10 minutes

Random Roads Suite was composed by flutist Greg Pattillo, double bassist Peter Seymour and cellist Eric Stephenson, a.k.a. the Project Trio. Originally scored for trio, I arranged a concerto-like setting for solo flute, solo cello, solo double bass and orchestra. The arrangement is intended to highlight the virtuoso chops of the trio while at the same time creating an intricate and coloristic interaction between soloists and orchestra. The Project Trio embraces a wide spectrum of stylistic influences including jazz, hip-hop and classical. The resultant multi-hued aesthetic is vibrantly showcased in this four movement work.
